Liverpool FC chooses La Manga Club to prepare for the last spring of the Premier League

The footballers from the English club spent last week at La Manga Club, spending a few days training hard and also making the most of their stay at the resort by doing lots of diverse activities with a main focus on fortifying their personal relationships, teamwork and consistency of the squad.

La Manga Club, 22nd February 2017. Liverpool FC arrived at La Manga Club last Wednesday with the clear objective of concentrating on their game and training, meticulously planned by their coach Jürgen Klopp, who knows La Manga Club well. In addition to training, that started in the early hours of Thursday, the technical team prepared a huge variety of activities to strengthen the personal bonds between the players.

The English team have mainly concentrated their energy on the playing field: intense sessions in which they have practiced new tactics and spoken of the moves they can improve on. The team have also made the most of La Manga Club Football Centre facilities by playing a few games between their own players. These matches serve to put into practice all of the training strategies: a great way of preparing before their next match against Leicester City in the Premier League, taking place on 27th February.

During their stay on the resort, they have created a great atmosphere of companionship between the footballers. The players of the English team have been working as a team throughout the day during training as well as their free time. Residents of La Manga Club have been able to enjoy the presence of the players, as some had been able to see them riding their bikes to training daily.

After hard training sessions and further analysis, the footballers also had the opportunity to disconnect themselves with teamwork games such as 'Paintballing'. The game consists of the players, divided into two teams, using air guns to shoot small paint balls to other players, eliminating the players which have been hit by one of these balls.

Liverpool FC chose the prestigious facilities of La Manga Club for its winter getaway, thanks to the eight natural grass FIFA sized football pitches. They also benefited from the highest technological apparatus in the High Performance Football Centre: the Catapult system, a method to measure the performance of the players in order to optimise the training session.

La Manga Club did not only make the commodities, exclusive services and the luxury of the magnificent Príncipe Felipe 5* Hotel available to them, but also worked to give an exclusive restaurant service. Advised by the English clubs’ nutritionist, La Manga Club compiled daily menus which the players ate every day and which they enjoyed in the hotels’ beautiful banquet rooms, decorated each day for the occasion. The English team also reflected the professionalism of the resorts’ security, which at all times ensured the privacy and security of the team.

Liverpool FC is not the only club which has travelled to La Manga Club for training. The facilities have had a variety of football teams from different countries, for example: Real Madrid, Barcelona FC, Seville FC, Chelsea FC, Newcastle United FC, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and AFC Ajax.
