From 17th to 25th July, Cartagena will see seven of its venues welcome over forty artists, whilst also hosting cinema, art and literature festivals.

La Manga Club, 17 July 2015. The most anticipated event of the summer has arrived in Cartagena, La Mar de Músicas, which, this year, celebrates its 21st edition and welcomes Chile as the featured country.

Over nine days, more than forty artists will take to Cartagena´s seven nominated venues all of which are fully-equipped for some sensational musical performances: Auditorio El Batel, Auditorio Parque Torres, Castillo Árabe, La Catedral, Paseo del Puerto, Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Plaza San Francisco (the latter three will host concerts which will be free to the public). Among the invited Chilean artists are Ana Tijoux, Astro, Camila Moreno, Chico Trujillo, Gepe, Javiera Mena and Melissa Aldana who will join artists such as Lila Down, French singer Zaz, British crew Asian Dub Foundation and Italian singer-songwriter Gino Paoli who will perform with Coque Malla and Christina Rosenvinge.

What´s more, to top off this musical extravaganza, La Mar de Músicas will be complimented by other cinema, art and literature festivals. Thanks to La Mar de Cine ten films will be shown for free from 20th to 24th July; through the coordination of La Mar de Arte, eight exhibitions will be on display at the Auditorio El Batel, the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, the Muralla Bizantina, the Museo Arqueológico, the Palacio Consistorial, the Palacio Molina and the UPCT. And last but not least, with La Mar de Letras, fifteen authors will analyse current Chilean literature through workshops, talks and poetic recitals in Cartagena´s historic city centre.

For the last three years La Mar Chica has also been celebrated at La Mar de Músicas which offers great fun for families. A fun yet educational activity designed so that children and parents alike discover new things whilst enjoying the music.

If you are staying at La Manga Club as a family, a couple or as a group of friends from 17th to 25th July, don´t miss this major cultural event which has become a summer must-see in the coastal city of Cartagena. If not, why not make La Manga Club with its 5* Hotel Príncipe Felipe and 4* Las Lomas Village your base for a holiday full of culture, relaxation, beaches, gastronomy and sport.
