A good start to this summer’s preseason football preparations at La Manga Club

La Manga Club, 19th July 2016 – A few days since preseason football preparations began here at La Manga Club and there has already been a number of teams that have used the facilities of the complex to train and prepare themselves for the forthcoming season that is around the corner.  

First to arrive was the British team Sheffield United FC, a team that was in the English Premier League in the 2006-2007 season and that continues to have a large and passionate fan base. During their stay in La Manga Club, the Blades held open training sessions for various local fans and shared a day outside of the football pitches with their fans through a ‘meet and greet’ session. 

At the same time, the national team of the United Arab Emirates arrived, whose training sessions at La Manga Club serve the purpose to prepare the squad for the final qualification rounds in the Asian Cup. The UAE will be the main team taking part in the various friendly matches that will take place in La Manga Club this summer. Last Monday, Bristol City FC also arrived in La Manga Club, currently in the second division of the English league (the Football League Championship). Bristol City have already started their training sessions on the football pitches at La Manga Club and on Thursday 21st July, the team will hold an open training session for their supporters.

Also in the second division, but in the Spanish league, is UCAM Murcia CF, which will visit La Manga Club in two different periods this month, 19th-22nd July and 24th-29th July. Finally, at the end of July Granada CF will come to the resort, but in this case it is the second team of the Granadian club.
