La Manga Club chosen for the second consecutive year 'Europes best golf venue' at the World Golf Awards 2018

Different representative figures of the world of golf gathered this weekend at La Manga Club where the fifth edition of these prestigious international golf awards, popularly known as the "Oscars" of golf, was held. The complex has received two of the main awards given during the gala for the second consecutive year, "Europes best golf venue" and "Best golf hotel in Spain", for its hotel Príncipe Felipe 5*.

La Manga Club, 4th November 2018 . La Manga Club has been awarded this weekend with two of the main prizes of the World Golf Awards 2018. The exclusive resort has been chosen as "Europes best golf venue" and, in addition, its Príncipe Felipe 5* hotel has been selected as "Best golf hotel in Spain". Its the second consecutive year that the complex has won these awards winning two of the only four awards that have fallen on Spanish establishments in this fifth edition, and being the only complex in our country to win one at the European level. Representatives from more than 40 countries attended the exclusive resort to these awards that identify and reward excellence in facilities and services from different golf courses around the world. This is the second time that these awards have been held in Spain and the organization has again chosen the exclusive complex to carry out its fifth edition.

From the 1st to the 4th of November, the resort was the setting for different activities, golf tournaments, etc., of which the different prize-winners took part, as well as other personalities representing the world of golf who enjoyed the facilities of the complex this weekend. 

The Awards Gala took place this Saturday the 3rd November with a cocktail and gala dinner in one of the rooms of the Hotel Príncipe Felipe 5*. It was attended by the Minister of Development and Infrastructure of the Region of Murcia, Patricio Valverde, the first deputy mayor of the City of Cartagena, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the president of the Golf Federation of the Region of Murcia, José Jover. On behalf of the organization was the director of the World Golf Awards, Chris Frost, and representing La Manga Club was Nick Montgomery, Eduardo Ruiz, the general director of Sports, and representatives of the General Community of Owners.

One of the most exciting moments was when golf legend Gary Player won top honors at the golf tourism event of the year by receiving the "Whole Career Award" as well as the "Golf Course Designer of the Year". The complete list of awards can be found here.

The general director of Sports of La Manga Club, Eduardo Ruiz, was responsible for collecting the award for La Manga Club as "Europes best golf venue", at which time he took the opportunity to highlight "the daily work done in the resort to provide quality services to its guests and customers and, ultimately, live a unique experience". Nick Montgomery picked up the award for the Príncipe Felipe 5* hotel at La Manga Club as "Best golf hotel in Spain". Two fantastic awards to celebrate a weekend revolving around golf in this corner of the Costa Cálida.

On his part, the director of the World Golf Awards, Chris Frost, noted that "La Manga Club has proven to be a world-class host in what has been a magnificent night of triumph for the golf tourism industry.
