From the five other nominees in this category, La Manga Club is the only Spanish one, competing with other sport complexes in places such as Dominican Republic, Italy, Jamaica and the Caribbean. It is the third year running that the World Travel Awards have nominated La Manga Club in this category.

La Manga Club, 27th September 2016 – La Manga Club continues to be nominated for many international prizes. In this case, it is in the World Travel Awards that La Manga Club will aim for first place in the category for the World's Leading Luxury Sports and Villa Resort 2016.

In this category, there are only five nominees and La Manga Club is the only sport complex situated in Spain. The four others are situated in Italy, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it is the third year running that La Manga Club has been nominated for this award.

How to vote

The voting process is very simple. You have to access this page http://www.worldtravelawards.com/register and complete the registration process. There are two types of votes: those that come from professionals in the tourism industry (their votes count as double) and individual votes. In the case that the vote comes from a professional in the world of travel and tourism, you will have to complete a short questionnaire.

Voting is open until 24th October.

La Manga Club has also been nominated in three other categories from this edition of the World Travel Awards. In particular, the award for Spain's Leading Sport Resort 2016; Europe´s Leading Sports Resort 2016; and Europe's Leading Villa Resort 2016.

Additionally, up until 1st October, votes are open for the World Golf Awards, an internationally renowned award for the top golf resorts in the world. In this edition, La Manga Club continues to be nominated for the third year running, for Spain's Leading Golf Resort and for Spain's Leading Golf Course with its South course. The 5* Hotel Principe Felipe has won the award for Spain's Leading Golf Hotel in the previous two editions.
