From 16th to 19th February, the North and South golf courses at La Manga Club witnessed the great success produced by the II PGAs of Europe International Pro Am Tournament, which brought with it 80 players, of more than 10 nationalities, from all over the world.

La Manga Club, 25th February 2015. A total of 80 participants landed at the resort, arriving from England, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Italy, United Arab Emirates and Croatia to contest the title.

Despite the strong gusts of wind recorded, especially on the second day of the championship, participants took advantage of the golf courses and the rest of the facilities at La Manga Club. This was in addition to a full programme for the entirety of their stay, including the awards ceremony which took place on Thursday 19th February.

The organisation distributed 20000 € of prize money between all of the pro participants, and the amateur winners received prize vouchers to cash in at the La Manga Club shops.

The teams who excelled, taking victory this year were, in third place, Andrea Zanini's Italian team, in second place was professional player Robert Bardsley's team, and in first place the team of professional player John Banbury, both from England. The pro winner was Englishman Darren Bragg.

All of those who participated at last year's I International Pro Am agree that there has been a significant improvement in golf facilities over the past year. This renovation has been possible thanks to investments focusing on the practice course, the 17th Hole and the new David Leadbetter golf academy which was opened last September. For the fourth year in a row, the resort has also received the award for “Spain's Best Golf Resort” as voted for by readers of the English magazine Today's Golfer.

Robert Moss, tournament director, affirmed that “all of the members of the PGAs of Europe team who have been here for this year´s Pro Am are delighted to come back to La Manga Club and we have been able to confirm that both the hotel facilities and golf courses at La Manga Club are in impeccable condition and could comfortably host any event on the international professional circuit”.
