Lawyers from around the world will meet at La Manga Club to battle it out in their 2016 World Football Tournament
This event was presented today in La Manga Club by the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, and the CEO Managing Director of La Manga Club, Jose Asenjo.
La Manga Club, 14th August 2015. La Manga Club has been the site chosen to contest the Mundiavocat 2016. This biannual world cup football tournament will bring together lawyers from 5 continents. From 13th to 22nd May, 2016, more than 2000 lawyers, forming some 80 teams, will attend this 18th edition of this prestigious tournament.
The Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernández, highlighted today the importance of sports tourism as a "service export industry that is helping to reduce the seasonality of regional tourism by promoting tourism throughout the year". With this in mind, the Managing Director of La Manga Club, Jose Asenjo, presented the projected today. He showed that the 'Mundiavocat' sporting event in La Manga Club would bring together more than 2,000 lawyers from around the world for ten days during mid-season.

The event is divided into 4 categories: Classic Tournament with no age restrictions, Masters Tournament: for over 35 years, Legend Tournament for players over 45 years, and for the first time in the championship, a five-a-side tournament which will have no age restrictions.
The teams will play between 5 and 7 games over the 8 day event. All matches will be played on natural grass pitches in La Manga Club and supervised by professional referees. They will also have medical assistance on hand.
La Manga Club has the highest quality training facilities in Southern Europe. It has eight international sized grass football pitches, one of which has an 800 spectator capacity. The centre also has dressing rooms and press rooms. These facilities often play host to the world’s great football teams and athletes.
Earlier this year, the High Performance Football Centre was opened. The objective of this centre is to maximize the potential of football players from all over the world. The HPFC (High Performance Football Centre) has a full training programme led by UEFA qualified coaches, physiotherapists, nutritionists and football analysts.
In their spare time, players can enjoy all the other facilities that the resort has to offer: 3 golf courses, a driving range and practice area, pitch&putt, 28 tennis courts, a 2000m² Spa and gym - including a High Performance Centre which features all the latest technology to monitor and advise on sporting performance, and more than 15 bars and restaurants.
