More than 300 runners participated in the III Sunset Race at La Manga Club
The third edition of this popular 7km race took place last Saturday, a picturesque event which takes place on the resort at dusk.
La Manga Club, 1st August 2016. Another successful event to add to the list of events organised by La Manga Club. In this case, with the third edition of the Sunset Race here at La Manga Club, which took place last Saturday with over 300 participants.
Competitors were divided into three age categories for both the women's and men's races: senior (from 18 to 39 years old), veterans A (aged from 40 to 49) and veterans B (over 50 years old). Trophies were awarded to the overall winners of the race (male and female) and to first, second and third place in each of the age categories. Additionally, this year, there was a new category, for those that participated and are employees at La Manga Club.
José Carlos Caprrós, José Bautista and Guillermo Otero, for the male category, and Mercedes Merino, Olga del Solar and Simona Slimaite, for the female category, were the overall winners for the third edition of the race.
The route will pass through the North and South La Manga Club golf courses, taking an estimated maximum time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The main appeal of this race is the opportunity to run across the La Manga Club golf courses, whilst enjoying the sunset and the privileged setting which surrounds the resort.
