Sevilla FC kicks off its pre-season at La Manga Club
The high levels of quality and security offered by the La Manga Club facilities were deciding factors in the team´s choice. Throughout July, the resort will host another national team, Granada FC; European teams, such as Hibernian FC, Queen of the South, Wigan Athletic and AFC Wimbledon; and the Moroccan team, Mas Football Club.
La Manga Club, 2 Julio 2015. Sevilla FC have chosen La Manga Club as the location to kick start the first stage of their pre-season. From 10th until 20th July, the first class sports facilities at La Manga Club will play host to the first team players. In addition to this, the exclusive nature of the resort will guarantee the necessary levels of security for the footballers, so that they can relax and focus on their training during their stay at the resort.
This will be the first time the resort has hosted the team from Seville. Whilst at the resort, both the players and the technical team will be staying in the 5* Príncipe Felipe Hotel on the resort.
In additon to Sevilla FC, five international teams will be hosted by La Manga Club throughout July. From 5th to 12th July, the High Performance Football Centre will welcome Scottish teams Hibernian Football Club and Queen of the South Football Club, whose visits will also coincide with the arrival of Wigan Athletic Football Club. On 11th July, the first friendly will take place between Hibernian FC and Wigan Athletic FC on pitch A at the Football Centre on the resort at 5pm.
From 20th to 26th July, the resort will host English team AFC Wimbledon Football Club, who have chosen La Manga Club as their destination to prepare for the upcoming season for the second time.
Meanwhile, Mas Football Club, who will be staying at La Manga Club from 23rd July to 3rd August, will be sharing the facilities with the English team for a few days. The Moroccan team will be visiting the resort facilities for the first time, where they will play friendly matches against local teams.
Granada FC, one of the most loyal football teams to La Manga Club, will return to the resort for the seventh consecutive summer. The expected dates for the southern Spanish team´s preparation are from 20th to 30th July, the same dates as Granada B FC. Granada will play a friendly match against AFC Wimbledon on 24th July.
Over the last few days in July, the Football Centre will open its doors to the youngsters since from 27th to 31st July La Manga Club plans to host the FC Barcelona Summer Camp, run by Barcelona FC for children aged between 7 and 17 years old.
Over the last four months over 150 teams have paid a visit to La Manga Club, given that it has become the habitual pre-season destination of choice for top level international clubs such as Borussia Dortmund. Other teams such as Real Madrid, Liverpool FC and the national Spanish, Korean and English teams have also trained the La Manga Club facilities.
