The winter break is now underway at La Manga Club’s Football Centre
At the start of each year, the Football Centre at La Manga Club continues to break attendance records over a period of three months. The winter break is upon us and with it we welcome international teams from more than 25 countries, many of which compete in the Champions League and various other top European competitions. Over the coming months, up to 150 teams and more than 4000 professional players will be developing and training at La Manga Club.
La Manga Club, 18th of December, 2017.- The Football Centre at La Manga Club has just inaugurated its plans for the winter break, and will be accommodating clubs from more than twenty countries over the next three months. More than four thousand professional footballers will be able to make the most of the opportunity to train and prepare for the second half of the season, not to mention participate in games against other elite-level teams that will be training on the same facilities. The Football Centre will welcome teams from the Belgian league, Bundesliga (Germany), Scandinavia and the English Premier League. Furthermore, four organised youth football tournaments will take place during which various international scouts will be able to discover new talent.
According to the director of sports on the resort, Chad Harpur, “at La Manga Club, the public will be able to see clubs that play at an elite European level, such as the Champions League, as well as more than 150 matches between European teams, with international scouts in the stands.” Among the elite, are Belgian team RSC Anderlecht, VFB Stuttgart from the German Bundesliga, the best teams from the Scandinavian leagues, and European under-17, 18, 19 and 21 squads, as well as numerous European ladies’ teams such as England, Scotland and Norway. Furthermore, international scouts will be staying at La Manga Club and will have the opportunity to discover young talent in the games between participants of the International Under-17, 18, 19 and 21 Squad Tournament, that will take place from the 10th to 13th of January.
This year, the Football Centre continues to break records, as Chad Harpur reminds us: “La Manga Club is going to improve every year, and since 2016 we’ve had the most success of our 45-year history, going above and beyond our intended targets and objectives. In fact, in 2018 we will once again excel and exceed the number of teams coming than in the previous year. The quality of service and facilities has meant that a large number of European clubs and squads are to return and trust La Manga Club to provide them with excellent resources over the winter break.
