Football summer season at La Manga Club

This July and August, La Manga Club welcomes the visit of ten football teams to the Football Centre as they look to prepare for the forthcoming season. The first club that will arrive at the resort for their training session will be Scottish team Saint Mirren. Chelsea FC U23 and U18, Bournemouth FC, Everton U23 and Southampton U23 will make up the rest of the ensemble visiting La Manga Club.​

La Manga Club, 27th June 2018 – Summer pre-season football preparations at La Manga Club begin. Scottish teams Saint Mirren and Kilmarnock will be the first to arrive at La Manga Club. Saint Mirren compete in the Scottish Premier League and is captained by Alan Stubbs. Kilmarnock, on the other hand, will spend the first week of July at the resort. Even though the latter team visited La Manga Club last year, they also take part in the Ladbrokes Premiership (the top division of the country) and is the oldest professional football team in Scotland. Kilmarnock FC and Doncaster Rovers FC training will take place at the same time.

From the 5th July, the first of the English teams that will visit La Manga Club for the summer will arrive at the resort. Chelsea U23 and U18 have already confirmed their stay between the 5th to the 13th July. The U23 team from Chelsea plays in the ‘Premier League 2 – Division 1’ and the U18 team were the winners of the ‘Premier League U18’ competition a couple of seasons ago.  

Everton U23 will join training a couple of days later and enjoy the facilities at La Manga Club until mid-July. The English team also compete in the ‘Premier League 2 – Division 1’ and won their division in the 2016-2017 season.

The last of the English teams that will visit La Manga Club is Bournemouth FC, who will be present until the 21st July. Known in England as the 'Cherries', they play in the English Premier League and are led by Eddie Howe.

In addition, other teams from Morocco, India and Egypt, to name a few, are expected to arrive throughout the summer.
