Summer pre-season football has arrived at La Manga Club

This summer, La Manga Club welcomes the visit of six football teams to the Football Centre as they look to prepare for the forthcoming season. The clubs that have chosen the resort for their training sessions are Chelsea Under 23s and Under 18s, Everton Under 23s, Southampton Under 23s, Kilmarnock FC, Ross County, and Cádiz CF – two Scottish, three English and one Spanish team.   

La Manga Club, June 28th 2017 – Summer pre-season football preparations at La Manga Club will begin in the next couple of days. This year, six teams have chosen the resort for their training camps before the forthcoming season. Three of the teams compete in the alternative version of the main division in England designed for Under 23s, known as ‘Premier League 2’, two of the teams play in the Scottish Premier Division and the sixth team – Cadiz CF – participates in the Spanish second division.

The first team to arrive will be Kilmarnock FC, which will make the resort their base from the 29th June until the 6th July. The Scottish team plays in the ‘Ladbrokes Premiership’, the premier division of their country. The second team to turn up to La Manga Club will be Ross County, also originating from Scotland. Their predicted arrival is the 2nd July and they are expected to leave the resort on the 7th July. Both of these football teams will use the facilities at La Manga Club’s Football Centre for their training sessions.

From the 6th July, the first of the English teams that will visit La Manga Club for the summer will arrive at the resort. Chelsea Under 23s and Under 18s have already confirmed their stay between the 6th to the 15th July. The Under 23 team from Chelsea plays in the ‘Premier League 2 – Division 1’ and the Under 18 team were the winners of the ‘Premier League Under 18’ competition last season.  

On the 16th July, it is Everton Under 23s turn to enjoy the facilities at La Manga Club; they will stay here until the 23rd of the same month. The English team will also battle for the ‘Premier League 2 – Division 1’ title and are the current holders of the title, having won their division last year, in the 2016-2017 season.

The last of the English teams that will visit La Manga Club is Southampton Under 23s who will be present from the 22nd July until 29th. Next season, they will find themselves competing in the ‘Premier League 2 – Division 2’.

The last team expected to come is Cádiz CF. The team currently plays in the Spanish second division, known as  ‘LaLiga 1|2|3’. Los Gaditanos, will be in and around the complex from the 23rd to 29th July. They are planning on playing two friendly matches with local rivals, as yet unconfirmed.
