La Manga Club opens one of the best Cricket Centres in Spain
La Manga Club has the best facilities to train and play cricket, thanks to the recent opening of the ‘European Cricket Performance Centre’. The new centre will be the overseas training bases for the national cricket teams of Ireland and Scotland, following the signing of a partnership agreement with La Manga Club.
La Manga Club, 18th May 2017.- The ‘European Cricket Performance Centre’ has officially opened. The CEO of La Manga Club, José Asenjo, opened the new cricket centre alongside the directors of Cricket Ireland (Richard Holdsworth) and Cricket Scotland (Malcolm Cannon), who have signed a partnership agreement that will see the new centre be the overseas training centre for the national cricket teams of Ireland and Scotland. The new facilities are also the base for ICC Europe to hold their academies and tournaments, as well as being the home of the Spanish National Team and La Manga Cricket Club.
Both organisations are highly satisfied with the agreement reached with La Manga Club and have declared that their players, of all levels, will now have the opportunity to train in internationally renowned facilities, which has both natural and artificial wickets.
The recently opened facilities include two cricket pitches (with 6 natural grass and 2 artificial grass wickets), practice nets (consisting of 18 natural grass and 5 artificial wickets, both with 25-yard run ups), a specialist fielding area and access to hire bowling machines if wanted.
In the past, our pitches have held the most important cricket tournaments at national level and have attracted many visiting sides, mainly from the UK, Europe and Asia. It is also worth taking into account that our excellent Junior Cricket Academy adapts its training sessions to all ages and levels of its players.
