Wikiloc is an application which helps you make and share routes to walk, run, cycle, etc. in whichever geographical zone. There are various possibilities:

  1. If you want to make your own route: it can be used like a GPS. To carry out the route, select the modality and the app calculates the distance of the trek, the altitude, etc. and positions you on the map. You can share the route with your friends and/or on social media.
  2. If you want to follow the route made by another user of Wikiloc: when you enter the app and select the geographical zone that you would like to carry out your hike, other available routes will appear indicating the user that uploaded it, the distance, etc. You have the option to download the map of the route (free version), or use the option to follow the route (for premium customers: less than €3 for 4 month subscription and €4.50 for an annual subscription) which indicates the start and the finish of the route with an audio signal, and warns you when you deviate more than 50 metres from the established route.
