Gordon Strachan & Lesley Strachan

Gordon David Strachan is a former Scottish footballer and current manager of the Scottish national football team. As a player, he shone as a midfielder for Scotland, taking part in two FIFA World Cups; Spain 1982 and Mexico 1986, where he scored a goal against Germany. He earned 50 caps for Scotland and was named SFWA Footballer of the Year in 1980 and FWA Footballer of the Year in 1991.

Whilst at Aberdeen, under the management of Alex Ferguson, he formed part of the team that won two Scottish Premier League titles in 1980 and 1984, three Scottish Cups and a European Super Cup. He also went on to play for Manchester United and Leeds.

As a manager, he has worked at teams such as Coventry City, Southampton, Celtic and Middlesbrough.

In 1977 he married Lesley Scott and they have three children together: Craig and Gavin Strachan, who are also footballers, and Gemma Strachan.
