Golf: La Manga Club hosts the 2015 Spanish International Senior Ladies Championship

Both the singles and doubles Spanish International Senior Ladies Championship was held for the first time in La Manga club from the 4th to 7th March. Nearly 100 golfers from all over Europe attended to fight for the title on the South Course.

La Manga Club, 16th March 2015. Golf returned to take the limelight at La Manga club from the 4th to 7th March, where both the singles and the doublesSpanish International Senior Ladies Championship was held. The action took place on the South Course and was attended by nearly a hundred senior golfers. Amongst some of the countries that were represented were Spain, France, England, Holland, Italy, Sweden and Finland.

In the individual category, the winner was Macarena Campomares from Madrid, followed by Lindsey Shaw from England in second place, just a point off Campomares. The third place went to María Orueta from Madrid, three strokes behind the winner. Macarena Campomanes ended the day with a total of 156 shots and took the lead from Casilda Castillejo, who until the second day was leading.

Macarena Campomares´ victory in this 2015 tournament reaffirms the Spanish domination in this area in recent years after victories from Rocío Ruiz de Velasco in 2013 and Maria Castillo in 2012 and 2014.

The doubles was won by Casilda Castillejo from Spain and Minna Kaarnalahti from Finland. They were closely follow by Debbie Richards and Katherine Russell from England, and in third place Macarena Campomares (individual champion) and Catalina Castillejo.
