La Manga Club updates its fleet of golf machinery with the addition of 18 new pieces of equipment
The acquisition of this new machinery is just part of an ambitious project which has been going on for a few months to renovate and improve the resort facilities.
La Manga Club, 3rd March 2016. Since the end of 2015, La Manga Club has been immersed in an important project to renovate and improve its facilities, paying special attention to those relating to golf. The incorporation of this new golf equipment is the final step towards achieving these objectives.
18 new golf machines
The La Manga Club golf department has recently acquired 18 new machines that will complete the dedicated fleet of vehicles used for the maintenance of the golf courses.
The director of golf, Eduardo Ruiz, explained that they have acquired different types of machinery which are capable of cutting the fairways, rough and greens to a very high standard. Also part of the new fleet are multi-use vehicles, a green aeration machine, a scarifier and various other utility vehicles for use by the workforce.
All these new cutting-edge machines are the latest models to be launched this year by TORO, the leading worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment.
Eduardo Ruiz, went on to say "The acquisition of this new equipment is just the first step towards a complete overhaul of all the golf machinery at La Manga Club. With these state of the art machines that we now have available to us, the quality of our courses will take a huge leap forward to become some of the best in Europe within just a few years”.
La Manga Club Golf Courses
La Manga Club has three 18-hole championship golf courses called North, South and West. Each of them has their own unique characteristics and challenges. In addition to these fantastic courses, there is an 18-hole Pitch & Putt which was designed by one of the greatest golfers of all time, Severiano Ballesteros.
The continuing commitment to the high standards of these golf courses has meant that La Manga Club, for the fifth consecutive year, has been recognised as the Best Hotel and Golf Resort in Spain by one of the top-selling English golfing magazines, ‘Today's Golfer’. Along the same lines, late last year, La Manga Club also won the prestigious award for Best Golf Hotel in Spain at The World Golf Awards, a prize which was hotly disputed between 18 other national candidates and in which the votes came from the golfers themselves.
Furthermore, the three La Manga Club golf courses recently entered the top 40 golf courses in Spain on the prestigious list of the Top 100 Golf Courses. This guide is used by many amateur and professional golfers alike when deciding which course to play.
The same publication also included the West Course at La Manga Club in the list of the top 100 golf courses in the whole of Europe.
Renovations at the Clubhouse pro shop
The project to renovate and improve the facilities at the resort has also included the pro shop located at the Clubhouse. The shop will reopen to the public in just a few days after a temporarily closed allowing for the work to be carried out. The pro shop will now have a new and more modern look with ample space and light.
Renovation of facilities at La Manga Club
The starting point for this ambitious project began with the renovation of the fitness centre located in the Spa building and was followed closely by the gym at the Tennis Centre. Both were updated with cutting-edge equipment, new spaces designed expressly for the needs of its users and a total replacement of the floors.
The next step taken in this General Plan effected the corridors at the Principe Felipe 5* Hotel. They were given a new coat of paint and replacement carpets. In addition, several rooms at the Hotel were renovated along with the two-bedroom apartments and panoramic rooms at 4* Las Lomas Village.
