All set for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation charity tournament at La Manga Club
This tournament will take place on 25th July on the resort's South Course and will form part of the qualification for the foundation's IV charity tournament in aid of research into tackling brain tumors and supporting young golfers.
La Manga Club, 20 July 2015. In this fourth edition of the charity tournament, 37 qualifying tournaments will be held all over Spain. It will be a Greensome stroke play pairs event, the final of which is to take place on the 19th September at the Real Golf in Pedreña where the winning pairs from each of the previous tournaments will be awarded green fees for the stunning golf course in Pedreña and a two night stay in Santander. The prize for the pair who go on to win the tournament itself will be a trip to Malaysia to compete in the Pro-Am EurAsia Cup 2016, a competition which brings the best players from Europe and Asia face to face.
The takings from this charity tournament will go towards fundingmedical research into brain tumors and supporting young golf players through the Foundation named after the golfer, Seve Ballesteros.
Seve Ballesteros had a very close relationship with the La Manga Club resort. It was here that he made his debut as a player at just 17 years old in the Open de España of the European Tour. He became a touring pro and an ambassador of La Manga Club for years, wearing the resort name for everyone to see and promoting the resort all over the world. Furthermore, Seve Ballesteros designed the resort's 18 hole pitch & putt course.
