The English side Burnley FC opens the 2015-2016 football season in La Manga Club
Burnley FC, currently near the top of the UK Championship league, are the first team to visit the resort this year. During their stay they made good use of the football facilities and also took advantage of the golf course, spa and gym.
La Manga Club, 5th October 2015. After the intense month of July when national and international football teams visited the resort, there was a rest period during August and September. Now the 2015 - 2016 football season has started with a visit from Burnley FC. Last year Burnley played in the Premier league and are now fighting for promotion as one of the top teams in the championship division. They are known by their many supporters as The Clarets.
This is the first time that this team has visited the resort. During their stay they were able to use not only the football facilities, but also play golf on some of the three golf courses at La Manga Club (North, South, West). These three courses are ranked as some of the best courses in Spain, and the West course has recently been included in the Top-100 list of best golf courses in Europe.
The players have also enjoyed some down time in Spa La Manga Club after using the recently renovated gym. The Gym has new state-of-the-art machinery which was supplied by Technogym, the official supplier for the Olympic Games in Beijing, Sydney and Athens.
La Manga Club has eight, FIFA size, natural grass football pitches along with all the necessary facilities for training great football teams and hosting high-level competitions. This is an outstanding sporting venue not only in Murcia and Spain, but also throughout Europe.
Burnley FC now join the growing list of big name European football teams like Borussia Dortmund, FC Barcelona and Benfica who have trained at La Manga Club.
