Ten female's National sides will take part in a tournament at La Manga Club
After more than a dozen top international football clubs have been training at La Manga Club (including RSC Anderlecht and GNK Dinamo Zagreb), it is now the turn of the Female Under-19 and Under-23 National sides.
La Manga Club, 26th February 2016. March in La Manga Club is synonymous with football. The winter season continues in earnest with the arrival of several female European national teams that will take part in a series of matches in various international tournaments.
Female National Under-19 and 23 Football teams
During the first week of March, it will be the turn of the U19 and U23 women's teams to get out on the pitches. In the U19 category there will be the national squads of Holland, England, United States, Norway, Italy, France, Denmark and Sweden, while the United States, England, Sweden and Norway will also take part in the U23 category.
These top national female players will also take part in an international tournament (each one in their own category) that will take place at La Manga Club in the first week of March. You can see the entire list of games happening in this International Tournament on our website.
Over the first few months of this year, over 80 European clubs and national teams have come to La Manga Club for their winter training. If 2015 finished as the best year in the history of football at La Manga Club, then 2016 is set to surpass it with an estimated 5000 international players training at this sports resort in Murcia.
Many teams at La Manga Club
Over a dozen top international club teams have already spent their winter break training and participating in friendly matches at the Football Centre at La Manga Club.
The first to arrive were the Belgian teams STVV, VFR Aalen and RSC Anderlecht along with the Under-16 and 17 National German Squads. Their arrival also coincided with the German Club team Würzburger Kickers and several Norwegian teams. On the grass pitches at La Manga Club Football Centre, it was also possible to see the Women's National Team from Norway, Odd Grenland, Stromsgodset and several sets of referees from Norway and Scotland.
Other teams that have been training at La Manga Club during their winter break included the Bulgarian team Litex Lovech (which was their first visit to the resort), the Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb, who are now a regular sight here at La Manga Club during the winter, and Vaalerenga, one of the most representative teams from Norway.
Male National Under-17 and 19 Football teams
As many as 8 European national teams arrived at La Manga Club to participate in this international tournament which run for five days starting from February 10th. There were two matches played daily and on show in the U19 category were the very talented young players from Norway, Portugal, Slovakia and Poland, while in the U17 category Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic and Turkey were taking part.
These games are highly valuable both to the players and coaches to test the physical condition of the squads. Also, every year, many scouts take this fantastic opportunity to view new talent and flock to La Manga Club to see theses future European football stars in action.
